Vultr is hiring a Linux Systems Administrator to design, administer, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure supporting a global customer base and data center operations. The role requires independent judgment to diagnose complex issues and implement scalable solutions.

You will work across systems, applications, and networking layers to maintain secure, reliable environments and support platform expansion.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux systems (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu).
• Troubleshooting non-routine technical issues at systems level.
• Scripting in Bash or Python required.
• Experience with Web servers, databases, caching, and firewalls.
• Understanding of Linux utilities, server/app architecture, security hardening, and distributed storage (Ceph).

Responsabilités

• Design, configure, and implement Linux system upgrades and scalability changes.
• Administer Linux servers and services; diagnose performance, stability, or security issues.
• Escalation point for Linux-related problems and remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering/operations on data center deployments and readiness.
• Migrate applications and systems; assess dependencies and risks.
• Monitor security posture and enforce compliance with standards.
• Develop automation and tooling to improve efficiency.
• Document systems and architectures for future scaling.
