Job summary

Vultr is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to design, administer, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure supporting our global data center operations. You will work across systems, applications, and networking, applying advanced Linux expertise to solve non-routine challenges and enable scalable growth.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, operations, and data center teams while maintaining secure, reliable environments and driving infrastructure upgrades.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency administering Linux systems (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu).
• Scripting in Bash or Python; automation and tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement Linux system upgrades and infrastructure changes.
• Administer and maintain Linux servers, diagnosing performance, stability, or security issues.
• Serve as escalation point for Linux-related issues and remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations on data center deployments and readiness.
• Perform migrations, evaluate dependencies, risks, and execution approaches.
• Monitor performance and security, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Develop and maintain automation, scripts, and tooling to improve efficiency.
• Produce documentation and diagrams to support scaling and reliability.
