Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator capable of collaborating with multiple engineering and software development teams to assemble, reassemble, integrate, and install operational systems and application software to build mission systems.
- Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology systems.
- Provide system administration services for Linux/UNIX infrastructure and development systems, including scripting and machine configuration using KickStart.
- Support the build and software integration of new mission systems and supporting architecture (client/server/storage/network devices).
- Ensure systems are maintained in the required configuration profile, including patch management, updates, and configuration changes as environments evolve.
- Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install/load OS software, troubleshoot, maintain network component integrity, and implement OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with at least 10 years of relevant System Administration experience. An additional 5 years of SA experience on similar projects may substitute for a degree.
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a Linux System Administrator working with RH Enterprise Linux, CentOS, DNS, and SSH configurations.
- Experience with application testing involving RedHat Linux or advanced Linux knowledge; troubleshooting daemons and tools such as NFS, NTP, BIND, Apache, Syslog, logrotate, chkconfig, init scripts, curl, and general networking.
- Familiarity with shell scripting languages such as Bash, KSH, or Ruby, including execution and analysis.
- Knowledge of virtualization software.
- Experience maintaining scripts for machine loading using KickStart and Puppet, and verifying system configurations.
- Active TS SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.
