Job summary

Atlas Tech is seeking a Linux Sustainment Engineer to support Navy tactical communications systems. You will manage Linux servers, automate tasks, and develop Python applications while ensuring DoD STIG compliance.

Ideal candidates have extensive Linux administration experience, strong scripting, and familiarity with CI/CD practices, containers, and network device configuration. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 8–10 years of Linux system administration experience.
• 5 years of software development using Python, Java or C#.
• Bash and shell scripting development experience.
• Technical documentation experience.
• Desirable: networking and testing experience.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with a wide range of IT products and systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer Red Hat VMs (KVM) and containers (Docker/Podman).
• Develop software applications in Python; Java or C# preferred.
• Automate maintenance tasks with Bash scripting.
• Maintain sources in Git repositories and Pipelines.
• Assist in configuring network devices and switches/routers.
• Support ECRs and installation documentation.
• Research and resolve DoD-compliance related issues.
• Ensure STIG compliance and secure DoD IT environments.
