Job summary

Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers, seeks a Linux Sustainment Engineer to define, develop, implement, and maintain software and hardware infrastructure for Navy tactical communications systems. The role includes automation, containerization, and security compliance responsibilities.

You will work with Red Hat VMs, Docker/Podman, and CI/CD pipelines, while contributing to software development in Python and other languages. Travel up to 10% is possible.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must currently possess and maintain a DoD Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Microsoft Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Programming/scripting languages (Bash/Python/HTML/etc.).
• Git, GitLab Pipelines, Artifactory, Confluence and Jira are used.

Responsibilities

• Administer Red Hat virtual machines (KVM) and containers (Docker/Podman).
• Develop software applications in Python (Python preferred; Java or C# experience considered).
• Automate maintenance tasks using shell scripting (Bash).
• Maintain source code in software repositories (Git).
• Assist in management of network devices, including configuration of layer 2 & 3 switches and routers.
• Assist subject matter experts with software engineering change requests (ECR) and software installation documentation.
• Research and resolve software trouble reports impacting application functionality.
• Ensure compliance with DoD guidelines for IT system security, specifically STIG compliance.
