Pure Storage, Inc. in Santa Clara, CA, seeks a Linux Kernel Software Engineer for Systems Engineering. You will develop kernel features for Pure’s storage products, patch and optimize to meet performance goals, and work across teams to resolve complex hardware-software challenges.

You will lead architecture from concept to release, mentor teammates, and engage with hardware partners to ensure robust, high-performance solutions. This onsite role values strong problem-solving and communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in Linux kernel and device drivers.
• Strong knowledge of computer architecture and OS concepts.
• Ability to ship high-performance, reliable software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with NVMe/PCIe is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features within the Linux kernel for Pure’s storage products.
• Maintain and patch code to fix difficult issues, including customer problems.
• Optimize kernel performance within Pure’s arrays to meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with hardware vendors to diagnose hardware-software boundary issues.
• Lead architecture and development from concept to release with high quality.
• Mentor peers and participate in code reviews across teams.
• Define requirements for upcoming enterprise storage server projects.
