Job summary

Fractile seeks an Infrastructure Engineer (Linux) to build and maintain the compute, storage, and networking foundations that support our on-premise workloads. You will be responsible for a Rocky/RHEL-family fleet, scripting and automation, and collaborating with silicon and software teams to scale performance.

The role requires 2–3+ years of Linux experience, strong monitoring and networking knowledge, and the ability to work independently while solving infrastructure bottlenecks.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of hands-on production Linux system administration experience.
• Good working knowledge of monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix or similar).
• Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, routing, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot on-premise Linux (Rocky/RHEL-family) servers.
• Deploy and upkeep compute infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tooling (e.g. Ansible).
• Monitor resource utilisation and system health with Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or similar.
• Diagnose networking issues (DNS, VLANs, routing) and storage issues (NFS, capacity, performance).
• Support cluster compute/job scheduling (e.g. Slurm).
• Manage user identities (FreeIPA/LDAP) including onboarding and access provisioning.
• Document infrastructure changes and contribute to runbooks and playbooks.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve infrastructure bottlenecks.
