Job summary

BC Forward is seeking a Linux Engineer to join our dynamic team in Charlotte, NC. This is a contract position with onsite/hybrid options and a W2 arrangement.

The ideal candidate has expert Linux development and admin experience, strong shell scripting, and the ability to deliver end-to-end solutions in production environments. Start date is 09/01/2026 with an anticipated duration of 12+ months and pay range of $55–$60 per hour on W2.

Job Description

We are seeking a Linux Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Linux systems development and administration, advanced shell scripting, and troubleshooting and a proven ability to deliver end-to-end solutions with minimal guidance in production environments.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Linux-based solutions end to end.

Create, optimize, and maintain advanced shell scripts for automation and operations.

Troubleshoot complex Linux system issues and performance bottlenecks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams during a single-round, highly technical virtual panel process.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Expert-level Linux development and administration experience.

Strong shell scripting skills using Bash or similar shells.

Proven ability to work independently without hand holding and own deliverables end to end.

[Experience level e.g., 5+ years in relevant roles]

Preferred Skills:

Experience with MongoDB.

Experience with Redis.
