Job summary

BCforward is hiring a Senior Associate, Quality Engineer for an onsite role in Redmond, WA. The position emphasizes ensuring product and process quality in aerospace/manufacturing contexts, owning projects, guiding team members, and driving continuous improvements.

You will bridge internal teams with customer counterparts, ensuring hardware meets specifications and quality standards, while collaborating with manufacturing and project engineering on inspection plans and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required in a relevant field.
• Experience in aerospace/manufacturing quality environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a quality liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and customers to ensure product compliance.
• Review and communicate non-conformances and deviations across organizational levels.
• Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and customer quality requirements.
• Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma.
• Evaluate in-process defects, implement containment actions, and lead corrective actions.
• Participate in MRB activities and non-conformance disposition.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Project Engineering to develop inspection/test plans and reports.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace processes such as machining, welding, and NDT.
• Make process/system improvements with moderate impact on operations.

Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule

Pay Rate: Up to $48 (W2)

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer (Specialist) works under general supervision and plays a key role in ensuring product and process quality within aerospace/manufacturing environments. This individual may own projects or processes, provide guidance to team members, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

You will act as a bridge between internal teams and customer counterparts, ensuring that hardware meets all required specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a quality liaison between engineering teams, manufacturing, and customers to ensure product compliance.
• Review and communicate non-conformances and deviations across multiple organizational levels.
• Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and customer quality requirements.
• Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Evaluate in-process defects, implement containment actions, and lead corrective actions.
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and non-conformance disposition.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Project Engineering to develop inspection/test plans and reports.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace processes such as machining, welding, and non-destructive testing (NDT).
• Make process/system improvements with moderate impact on operational performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001 / AS9100
• Experience with RCCA tools:
• FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis)
• 5-Why Analysis
• Pareto Analysis
• 8D Problem Solving
• Fishbone (Ishikawa)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong ownership mindset and problem-solving ability
• Experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to product development in cross-functional teams
• Experience working directly with customers or suppliers
• Familiarity with inspection/testing processes and documentation

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree 4 years of relevant experience

OR

• Master’s Degree 2 years of relevant experience
