Job summary

Quantiq is seeking a System Administrator to maintain a Fedora-based in-house infrastructure, spanning 50-100 computers, servers, switches, GPUs, and datacenter hardware. You will manage provisioning, asset tracking, backups, monitoring, and vendor coordination to keep trading operations running smoothly.

You will occasionally travel to Austin/Chicago datacenters, troubleshoot complex issues across hardware and software, and support Operations and Technical teams in a fast-paced workspace

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Linux-based admin role.
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to respond to off-hours emergencies.
• Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
• Strong debugging skills across hardware, low level software & networking.
• Bash and Python scripting ability.
• Basic networking tools experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and monitor proprietary frameworks/code and third-party systems.
• Manage access credentials to various applications and trading systems.
• Exercise cautious, responsible use of sysadmin privileges.
• Make infrequent trips to Austin and Chicago datacenters to maintain hardware.
• Create, document and enforce backup procedures and run failovers.
• Run drills to improve failure tolerance across infrastructure.
• Assist onboarding new hires to in-house systems and infrastructure.
• Respond to issues and requests from Operations and Technical teams.
