Job summary

Qualifications

• Five years of lineman experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Ability to use physical strength to perform required tasks in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work irregular hours and out-of-town assignments as required.
• Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks with limited supervision.
• Ability to plan and lay out all work safely and efficiently.
• Ability to assume a lead role and direct other linemen.
• Work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures.
• Learn through classroom instruction, on-the-job training and repetitive motions.
• Climb and work off poles of various heights.
• Recognize hazards and mitigate them.
• Maintain and care for company equipment and safeguard assets.

Responsibilities

• Construct, build and maintain OH/UG electric facilities with primary voltages up to 34.5 kV.
• Install OH/UG transformers and wire transformer banks.
• Install and wire regulators, capacitors and reclosers.
• Drive trucks of various sizes and types.
• Operate equipment such as aerial bucket and digger derrick trucks.
• Read and understand job prints and sketches.
• Identify materials and their functions.
• Set up and climb poles of all sizes in open areas and energized lines.
• Be available for on-call duty and emergency response.
