Responsibilities
Construct, build and maintain over‑head and underground electric facilities with primary voltages ranging up to 34.5 kV, including but not limited to:
- Installation, removal and maintenance of OH/UG primary line facilities and secondary services.
- Installation of OH/UG transformers and wiring of transformer banks.
- Installation of regulators, capacitors and reclosers.
- Driving trucks of various sizes and types.
- Operating aerial bucket and digger derrick trucks.
- Reading and understanding job prints and sketches.
- Recognizing materials and their functions.
- Setting and climbing poles in open areas, rear alleys, and energized lines.
- Availability for on‑call duty and emergency response.

Qualifications
5 years of lineman experience.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License (current or obtainable).
- Ability to use physical strength to perform required tasks in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work irregular hours and out‑of‑town assignments as required.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks with limited supervision.
- Ability to plan and lay out work safely and efficiently.
- Ability to lead and direct the work of other linemen.
- Adherence to Entergy safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to learn through classroom instruction, on‑the‑job training and repetitive motions.
- Ability to climb and work off of poles of various heights.
- Ability to recognize and mitigate workplace hazards.

Essential Functions of the Linemen Position
- Traverse uneven terrain, including wet, muddy, slippery, concrete or asphalt, while carrying tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work in extreme heat and cold.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Work alone during restoration services.
- Perform physical tasks such as digging, pulling, pushing, carrying and lifting up to 80 pounds.
- Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Safely operate trucks, heavy equipment and work around energized lines and equipment.
- Work at heights, including overhead from bucket trucks, for extended periods.
- Climb up and descend from wooden/steel structures, poles and ladders, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, gripping, handling and feeling.
- Perform emergency rescue operations, including pulling injured workers from significant height.
- Use sound judgment in dangerous environments.
- Follow safety rules.
- Work up to 16 continuous hours per day.
- Wear required personal protective equipment.
- Perform basic computer tasks: enter time sheets, note task completion, check and respond to email, complete online training.
- Communicate effectively and interact with a team.
- Manage stress and handle tense situations.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Work overtime when necessary.
