Job summary

Armstrong Utilities is seeking a Construction Lineman 1 for 4x10 hour overnight shifts. You will assist with building aerial and buried coax, copper, and fiber optic cables, following Armstrong construction practices.

This entry‑level role emphasizes teamwork and the ability to work independently when needed. Benefits start immediately and include medical, dental, vision, 401k, pension, and 25 days of paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• DOT medical card obtainable after offer.
• Overnight travel required.
• Physical ability to lift 75 lbs and perform labor-intensive tasks.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions under time pressure.
• Availability for after-hours work for storm response.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles and ladders safely.
• Work aloft using gaffs, ladders, and lifts.
• Operate bucket trucks, forklifts, backhoes, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret network design prints.
• Maintain daily logs and inventory paperwork.
• Follow Armstrong safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned.
