Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent education with related work experience.
• Alaska Lineman Journeyman Certificate of Fitness.
• Four years training under an approved apprentice line program.
• Ability to obtain an Alaska Commercial Driver's license within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electrical distribution systems area wide.
• Prepare reports and maintain logs of activities.
• Climb utility poles and towers to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Trouble‑shoot distribution systems and correct problems.
• Maintain a balanced power load.
• Travel to villages to perform services.
• Comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Respond to emergency calls, 24-hours a day.
• Supervise the contractor's work to North Slope Borough standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
