Job summary

Holland America-Princess seeks an Apprentice Lineman/Journeyman Lineman to inspect, repair, install, and maintain overhead and underground power lines and substations in Alaska. You may supervise apprentices and work under the General Foreman to ensure safe and coordinated utility operations.

The role requires climbing poles, operating heavy equipment, and performing on-call duties with strict safety standards; Alaska-specific certifications will be pursued if not already held.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Journeyman Lineman certification/licence is required.
• Alaska Certificate of Fitness must be obtained within 2 years.
• Ability to obtain Pole Top and Bucket Truck Rescue certification as required by OSHA 1910.269.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair primary and secondary equipment on electric transmission, distribution, and substations.
• Test, install, and maintain duct lines, cables, conduits, transformers, circuit breakers, and related equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment and vehicles; climb poles and bucket trucks to access lines.
• Work in underground and elevated environments with safety as a priority.
• Assist with outage investigations and system preventive maintenance.
