Job summary

AEP Service Corporation is seeking a Line Mechanic C to perform installation, maintenance, and inspection of overhead and underground transmission facilities. The role includes climbing, operating line equipment, and progressing from C-100 to higher classifications under supervision.

Residency is required within 30 minutes of the Childress Operation Center. This position is in the distribution electrical power line field with emphasis on safety and hands-on line work.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of one year distribution electrical power line work experience, or equivalent line experience with school certificate and internship.
Valid Class A CDL required.

Responsibilities

Assemble, install, maintain, and inspect overhead and underground facilities up to 600V under supervision as skill grows.
Build and erect equipment mountings and overhead transformer installations.
Tag procedures during switching of energized circuits to ensure safety and compliance.
Inspect and troubleshoot lines and related components.
Perform tasks as assigned and progress with increased responsibility.
Direct the work of assistants and apprentices as needed.
Complete Monthly Apprentice Cards and submit for supervision review.
