Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Lineman C to perform installation, maintenance and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. The role involves working on overhead and underground lines, operating line equipment, and progressing through Lineman classifications with training and demonstrations.

Residency within 30 miles of the Marshall Service Center is required. Minimum one year of distribution line experience or equivalent is required, along with a valid Class

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year distribution electrical power line work experience, or equivalent (one year electrical power line school plus 16 weeks internship or an associate degree with internship).
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Must be able to progress to higher classifications with demonstrated performance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, inspect underground facilities and lines up to 600 volts.
• Work on energized lines under supervision as required (varies by classification).
• Use electrical test instruments (volt-amp meters, ground meggers, continuity testers).
• Direct and supervise assigned workers and ensure proper safety procedures.
