Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business or related area preferred.
• Dispatch experience preferred.
• Strong time management and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with field operations to plan contractor and equipment needs for trailer movements.
• Coordinate and track processing and movement of FedEx trailers, rental equipment, and dollies.
• Manage locally domiciled Unassigned Team logistics to maximize resources and minimize tractor dwell.
• Direct dispatch of transportation equipment per the Linehaul plan.
• Ensure Linehaul dispatch and arrival rules follow defined procedures.
• Coordinate cargo shipments to maximize trailer volume while meeting delivery obligations.
• Enter trip details into the TMS to ensure on-time delivery and pickup of trailers.
• Verify equipment locations in dispatch system via yard inventories.
• Verify load/unload status of trailers and report missing equipment.
• Follow safety initiatives to promote a safety-conscious culture.
• Investigate and report delays, accidents and equipment failures and implement contingency plans.
• Review DOT roadside violations with management.
• Coordinate with Safety and Maintenance to monitor tractor inspections and DOT certificates.
• Review TLCRs to ensure proper completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
