Overview
To assist construction and service crews in providing reliable service to customers.

Responsibilities

1. Perform maintenance and general construction following standards in overhead and underground work.
2. Proficient in climbing and handling oneself on utility poles.
3. Basic knowledge of installing conductors in overhead and underground environments.
4. Familiar with grounding procedures for circuits.
5. Proficient in using bucket and derrick trucks and safety procedures.
6. Apply company safety rules and safe work procedures.
7. Proper use and care of equipment, tools, and ropes.
8. Know lines and equipment, patrol when necessary.
9. Proper care of live line tools, handling, and storing protective equipment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent; minimum six months experience in line construction and maintenance; formal training preferred.

Special Qualifications

• Good mathematical, literacy, and communication skills.
• Willing to respond to storm trouble and emergencies after hours.
• Residence within 25 miles of report location or willingness to relocate.
• Valid driver’s license and certification under FMCSR; ability to qualify for Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement.
• Successful recommendation from EEI test.

Attendance: Regular attendance is essential.

Work Conditions

• Outdoor work, exposure to elements.
• Frequent overtime and overnight travel.
• Exposure to high voltage equipment.
