Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Perform a variety of functions on fleet vehicles and equipment according to company policies, regulations, repair manuals, factory specifications, schematics, and personal knowledge.

The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Available positions include: Fleet Maintenance Technician Class A, B, or C. The offered position depends on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Be at least 20 years old.
2. Possess a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle before starting.
3. Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods.
4. Ability to lift a minimum of 65 pounds.
5. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
6. Proficiency in reading, writing, and math.
7. Complete required tests before starting: Basic Office Skills, Following Written Instructions, Spatial Reasoning, Mechanical Reasoning.
8. Ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
9. Capability to use a computerized maintenance management system.
10. Obtain ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification.
11. Work independently with minimal supervision.
12. Maintain and supply necessary hand tools.
13. Work well in a team and demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative, and pride.
14. Commitment to Publix’s mission.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Current Atlanta Distribution associate preferred.
• At least two years of medium/heavy duty truck trade school or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of ARC, MIG, and GAs welding and cutting techniques.
• Basic welding skills for aluminum and steel.
• Mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of fleet equipment, circuits, and operational sequences.
• Minimum of one year of relevant trade school or experience.
