Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Line Servicer to perform installation, maintenance, and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. You will respond to trouble calls, engage with construction crews, and assist with outage restoration in overhead and underground systems.

Candidate must live within 45 minutes of Paintsville, KY, possess a Class A CDL, and have at least 2 years of Line Mechanic A experience or equivalent. Occasional travel and overtime are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years as Line Mechanic A or Lineman A or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Duties include laddering, climbing, field assessments, and safety protocols.
• Must meet physical requirements and be able to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and take corrective action on trouble calls for transmission/distribution circuits and equipment.
• Inspect lines, locate, clear, and repair faults; install and remove transformers/meters.
• Coordinate circuit switching and restoration of service after trouble calls.
• Work with energized lines for emergency repairs or maintenance.
• Interface with emergency services to ensure safe restoration of trouble.
