American Electric Power in Paintsville, KY is seeking a Line Servicer to install, maintain, and repair transmission and distribution facilities. The role requires living within 45 minutes of the Paintsville office and willingness to relocate at personal expense.

You will analyze trouble calls, coordinate circuit switching, work with hot line equipment on energized circuits, and interact with emergency services. A CDL Class A is required; heavy physical work and overtime are expected.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as Lineman A or Line Mechanic A preferred or 480 verifiable hours.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze and take corrective action with respect to trouble calls on all types of transmission and distribution circuits and equipment.
• Investigate trouble calls; patrol and inspect lines; locate, clear and repair faults on lines and equipment.
• Coordinate and/or conduct complex circuit switching and restoration of service resulting from trouble calls.
• Work with hot line equipment on energized circuits for emergency repairs or routine maintenance of facilities.
• Independently interface with emergency forces to accomplish safe trouble call restoration.
• Communicate effectively with customers and formulate a plan designed to serve their needs as well as the Company’s in resolving trouble calls.
• Install, remove, operate and maintain residential, commercial and industrial facilities, both overhead and underground.
• Disconnect and connect meters; read in and read out meters.
• Operate line switches; operate switches and replace fuses in stations; request, make and accept line clearances.
• Direct the work of employees assigned to assist.
