American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a Line Servicer to install, maintain, operate and inspect transmission and distribution facilities, both overhead and underground, near Paintsville, KY. You will provide first response to trouble calls and assist construction crews as needed.

You must live within 45 minutes of the Paintsville office, have a High School diploma or GED, 2 years Line Mechanic A experience (or 480 hours toward it), a valid Class A CDL, and be prepared for overtime, on-call work,

Formación

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of work experience as Line Mechanic A, Lineman A or the equivalent.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Other Must Haves: Shall have performed the duties of and have all the qualifications of Lineman A or the equivalent; physical abilities assessment; overtime and on-call; possible travel.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze and take corrective action with respect to trouble calls on transmission and distribution circuits and equipment.
• Investigate trouble calls; patrol and inspect lines; locate, clear and repair faults on lines and equipment.
• Coordinate and/or conduct complex circuit switching and restoration of service from trouble calls.
• Work with hot line equipment on energized circuits for emergency repairs or routine maintenance.
• Independently interface with emergency forces to accomplish safe trouble call restoration.
• Communicate with customers and plan to serve their needs and the Company’s in resolving trouble calls.
• Inform customer if trouble is in customer’s wiring or equipment; investigate radio and TV interference.
• Install, remove, operate and maintain residential, commercial and industrial facilities, overhead and underground.
• Disconnect and connect meters; read in and read out meters.
• Operate line switches; replace fuses; obtain line and station clearances.
• Direct the work of employees assigned to assist.
