Job summary

Hotel Revival Baltimore is seeking a Line/Prep Cook to support kitchen staff in preparing meals, labeling and organizing ingredients, and maintaining a clean workstation in compliance with health standards.

You will follow Head Chef's instructions, prep according to recipes, handle ingredients, assist in restocking, and ensure safety and efficiency during service; state-issued food handling certification preferred; prior culinary experience a plus.

Qualifications

• State-issued food handling certification is required.
• Related experience in culinary/hospitality preferred.
• Ability to read and understand workplace documents.
• Able to perform basic math operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect food prep and serving areas for sanitary food-handling practices.
• Prepare, season, and cook dishes per recipes and procedures.
• Follow prep list from Head Chef or kitchen manager.
• Label and stock ingredients on accessible shelves.
• Wash, chop and sort ingredients (fruits, vegetables, meats).
• Address guests’ dietary restrictions and allergies as noted.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitization of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Store food properly to prevent spoilage and waste.
• Carry supplies and utensils to/from storage and work areas.
• Assist in restocking and replenishment of supplies.
• Test and verify doneness by tasting or temperature checks.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Portion, arrange, and garnish food.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grills, and roaster temperatures.
• Estimate consumption and procure supplies as directed.
