Job summary

Ohio Power Company is seeking a Line Mechanic C to install, inspect, and maintain overhead and underground electrical facilities. You will work under supervision with increasing responsibilities as you progress through line classifications.

A valid CDL and commitment to safety are required. Responsibilities include testing, grounding URD cables, and troubleshooting energized lines while coordinating with a supervising qualified person.

Qualifications

• Experience in distribution electrical power line work or equivalent.
• Ability to perform duties of Line Mechanic D and progress as required.
• Must pass qualifications and demonstrations defined by the Company.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain and inspect overhead and underground facilities.
• Test, de-energize and ground URD cable after appropriate training.
• Perform switching and energize equipment under supervision as needed.
• Direct the work of assistants and complete apprentice documentation.
