Job summary

Tatte Bakery & Café in Massachusetts is seeking Line Cooks to join a fast-paced, guest-focused kitchen. You will prepare dishes according to Tatte recipes while maintaining quality, cleanliness, and food safety across every shift.

Responsibilities

• Execute techniques under the Sous Chef and Executive Chef
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality, and presentation standards
• Portion, chop, weigh, and mix ingredients
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers
• Monitor appliance and food temperatures
• Set up and break down workstations
• Wash and disinfect surfaces, tools, and equipment
• Follow safety and security policies
• Maintain quality expectations
• Assist chefs with culinary tasks
• Other related assignments as needed

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Line Cooks prepare dishes according to Tatte recipes and standards while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and food safety across every shift. We expect our savory team members to:

• Have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, afternoons, and evenings
• Ideally, have prior experience working in a fast paced kitchen environment

Summary of Line Cooks’ Primary Responsibilities

• Execute techniques under the direction of the Sous Chef and Executive Chef
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality, and presentation standards
• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
• Ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
• Set up and break down workstations and prepare for upcoming shifts
• Wash and disinfect kitchen surfaces, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
• Assist chefs in preparing food and supporting additional culinary tasks as needed
• Other related assignments as necessary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / WORKING CONDITIONS

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to grasp and reach overhead
• Must be able to lift, move, and carry 50+ lbs
• Must be able to stand and work on feet for 8+ hours per day
