Loews Arlington Hotel is hiring for a Cook in a fast-paced, upscale hotel kitchen. You will prepare and plate menu items, follow recipes, maintain sanitation, and ensure timely service in a high-volume environment.

The role requires 3+ years cooking experience, knowledge of sanitation standards, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Weekend and holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years cooking in upscale, high-volume hotel/restaurant or related training/certification.
• Strong knowledge of Food Service Sanitation Standards.
• Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and its use.
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend; lift up to 50 pounds.
• English reading, writing and speaking ability.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set up and organize work area with supplies and equipment.
• Receive, inspect and rotate food products to ensure freshness.
• Prepare and store raw food products properly.
• Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Plate foods according to presentation guidelines and monitor quality.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards and monitor temperatures.
• Notify supervisor of equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
• Assist with cleaning and organizing the kitchen and closing tasks.
