Job summary

Parker Hospitality in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Part-Time Line Cook to prepare, produce and present all menu items with a focus on quality and consistency. You will operate in a fast-paced kitchen, uphold food safety standards and support teamwork throughout the venue.

Responsibilities include measuring ingredients, following recipes, reading orders accurately, and communicating delays or issues promptly to managers.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in English, both written and spoken.
• Minimum of one year of back of house cooking experience in a comparable environment.
• ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to prescribed recipes, presentations, and any special guest requests.
• Measure and prepare all ingredients required for recipe execution before and during service.
• Follow all prescribed portioning controls consistently.
• Maintain food safety and quality standards throughout all stages of food preparation.
• Read and accurately interpret all orders, whether handwritten or computerized.
• Safely and efficiently use knives and all tools, utensils, and equipment required for menu preparation.
• Follow all food allergy procedures and accommodate special orders and dietary restrictions.
• Read and use a thermometer correctly and efficiently.
• Communicate any food delays or issues to the Coordinator or Manager promptly.
• Maintain menu item counts and notify management and service staff when quantities fall below the restaurant minimum.
