Job summary

Bobo's Café in Connecticut is seeking a friendly Line Cook to join a fast-paced kitchen. You will handle prep, cooking, and portioning while maintaining clean stations and following recipes.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in a Line Cook role, can stand for long periods, lift 25 pounds, and speak English (Spanish a plus). We offer $18/hour, PTO, sick time, 401(k) matching, a dining discount, and uniforms.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a Line Cook position in a similar environment.
• English fluency; Spanish fluency is preferred, but not required.
• Be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations, including preparation, cooking, and portioning of food.
• Maintains and properly uses all kitchen equipment including griddle, fryers, blenders, food processors, mixers and other kitchen equipment.
• Prep duties prepared according to cookbook procedures, seasoned and cooked to standards taught by the kitchen lead.
• Follows operating procedures of all recipes, techniques, and kitchen duties as taught by the kitchen lead.
• Responsible for proper inventory storage, labeling and dating of preparations along with waste management procedures.
• Maintain an organized cooking station with efficient knife skills and professional workload.
• Clean station and assist with the deep cleaning schedule.
• Support the BoBo's team during catering and employee call-outs.
• Adhere to Department of Health standards to keep kitchen spaces clean and safe.

What you'll do:

• Responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations, including preparation, cooking, and portioning of food.
• Maintains and properly uses all kitchen equipment including the griddle, fryers, blenders, food processors, mixers and other kitchen equipment.
• Consistently ensures that prep duties are properly prepared according to cookbook procedures, seasoned and cooked to the standards taught by the kitchen lead within designated completion times.
• Follows operating procedures of all recipes, techniques, and kitchen duties as taught by the kitchen lead.
• Responsible for correct inventory storage, including labeling and dating of preparations along with waste management procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining an organized cooking station and exhibits at least average knife skills with speed and accuracy to maintain a professional line cook's workload.
• Responsible for cleaning your station and assists with the deep cleaning schedule.
• Supports the BoBo's team whenever needed (employee call-outs, catering, etc.)
• Is knowledgeable of Department of Health standards and uses them as a guide to keep kitchen spaces clean, safe and in accordance with the Board of Health requirements.

What we need from you:

• 1+ years in a Line Cook position in a similar environment
• ServSafe Certificate preferred, but not required
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
• Be able to lift at least 25 Pounds
• English fluency. Spanish fluency is preferred, but not required.
