Job summary

New Hampshire Veterans Home is looking for a Line Cook / Prep Cook to prepare meals according to NHVH menus and dietary specifications for veteran residents, including those in a life-enhanced dementia unit.

You will maintain food safety, assist with inventory, and collaborate with the Kitchen Supervisor to ensure timely service and appealing presentation while working in a supportive, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Previous food service/cooking experience preferred.
• Ability to read recipes and follow written directions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push carts.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Flexibility to work indoors and/or outdoors depending on event needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to standardized recipes and dietary/therapeutic diet specifications.
• Maintain food safety, portion control, and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and keep the cooking area clean and sanitized.

About the Role

Mfinite Consulting is hiring Cooks to prepare meals according to NHVH menus and dietary specifications for veteran residents at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, including residents of a life-enhanced dementia unit. Before You Start: Screening & Compliance

Per NHVH contract requirements, all candidates must complete the following prior to their start date:

• Criminal background check (National Criminal Records Check or NH Release of Criminal Record Authorization)
• BEAS State Registry check
• OIG Exclusion List screening (at hire, with monthly re-screening thereafter)
• Annual Conviction Disclosure Attestation
• Fitness-for-duty attestation, and physical/drug testing where applicable
• Review and attestation of NHVH policies and procedures (at hire and annually)
• Note: Former NHVH employees are not eligible for placement without prior NHVH approval
