Job summary

Mfinite Consulting is hiring line cook and prep cook to prepare meals at New Hampshire Veterans Home, following NHVH menus and dietary specifications for veteran residents. If you take pride in your craft in the kitchen and want your cooking to make a real difference in residents' daily lives, we'd like to hear from you.

This role supports a life-enhanced dementia unit and works with the Kitchen Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Previous food service/cooking experience preferred.
• Ability to read recipes and follow written directions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push carts.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Flexibility to work indoors and/or outdoors depending on event needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to standardized recipes and dietary/therapeutic diet specifications.
• Maintain food safety, portion control, and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and keep the cooking area clean and sanitized.
• Communicate ingredient, equipment, or scheduling issues to the Kitchen Supervisor.
• Assist with inventory, food storage, and rotation as needed.

About the Role

Before You Start: Screening & Compliance

Per NHVH contract requirements, all candidates must complete the following prior to their start date:

• Criminal background check (National Criminal Records Check or NH Release of Criminal Record Authorization)
• BEAS State Registry check
• OIG Exclusion List screening (at hire, with monthly re-screening thereafter)
• Annual Conviction Disclosure Attestation
• Fitness-for-duty attestation, and physical/drug testing where applicable
• Review and attestation of NHVH policies and procedures (at hire and annually)
• Note: Former NHVH employees are not eligible for placement without prior NHVH approval
