Job summary

Big Whiskey's of Southeast Missouri is seeking a line cook to accurately prepare meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot dishes. You will portion ingredients, plate dishes, garnish, and ensure quality across all menu items.

Responsibilities include stocking stations, maintaining a sanitary work area, and following portion sizes and recipes. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand up to 9 hours, with at least 2 years in kitchen prep and cooking and 6 months in a similar role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
• At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity
• Must communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to stand for up to 9 hours

Responsibilities

• Prepare meats, seafood, vegetables, and other items using broilers, ovens, grills and fryers
• Maintain quality and portion control of all menu items
• Keep station clean and organized and rotate stock properly
• Assist in food prep during peak times as needed
• Close kitchen following checklist and assist with closing duties
• Participate in meetings and contribute improvement ideas
• Perform other related duties as assigned by kitchen management
