Big Whiskey's American Restaurant & Bar in Poplar Bluff, MO is seeking a dependable cook to accurately and efficiently prepare meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot items, and to portion and plate foods. Candidates will garnish plates and maintain clean, organized stations.

This role requires lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for long periods, and contributing to closing duties and prep as needed in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.
• Clear communication with managers, kitchen and dining room staff.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other items for cooking on broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other equipment.
• Assumes responsibility for the quality of products served.
• Maintains standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen rules.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient food at line stations for smooth service.
• Properly labels and rotates products; follows plate presentation and garnish setup.
• Keeps work stations clean and sanitary and assists in closing the kitchen.
