Job Overview

Ensure proper service through quality control, training of line cooks, and maintaining sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Check all items against recipe cards; verify use records and proper food presentation.
  2. Monitor line setup before meal functions for maximum efficiency.
  3. Maintain equipment and uphold the 'clean as you go' policy.
  4. Prepare food according to recipes and standards, ensuring consistency.
  5. Start pre-prepared food items, avoiding overproduction.
  6. Label, date, and rotate perishables per SOP; ensure proper storage temperatures.
  7. Check pars, determine prep needs, and set up lines accordingly.
  8. Note shortages or out-of-stock items.
  9. Return unused food to storage, covering and dating perishables.
  10. Assist in controlling food costs, waste, and usage as per SOP.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

1-2 years of related experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures.

Physical Demands

The role involves lifting up to 70 lbs, climbing, bending, standing for long periods, and working in varying temperatures. Ability to hear timers, communicate effectively, and follow instructions is essential. Reasonable accommodations can be made for disabilities.
