Job Overview

The culinary team of the Golden Owl Tavern prepares foods inspired by the American South, featuring a variety of menu options. We seek enthusiastic and creative individuals passionate about sharing their culinary skills and community spirit.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure proper service, quality control, and sanitation standards.
  2. Follow recipes, verify use records, and ensure food presentation quality.
  3. Monitor setup and equipment maintenance for efficiency and safety.
  4. Prepare food following standard recipes and portion controls.
  5. Manage food storage, rotation, and inventory to minimize waste.
  6. Assist in buffet stocking and food cost management.
  7. Return unused food to storage, covering and dating perishables.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of relevant culinary experience.
  • Knowledge of kitchen practices and procedures.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting up to 70 lbs, climbing, bending, standing for long periods.
  • Mobility to move around the kitchen.
  • Ability to hear timers and communicate effectively.
Work Environment
  • Mostly indoor, with temperatures ranging from -10°F in freezers to over 100°F on the line.
