Job summary

Recess Hotel & Club Savannah is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join the opening culinary team. You’ll own your station, move with purpose during service, and help establish kitchen standards and culture from day one.

This onsite role offers opportunities to collaborate with a dynamic team, deliver consistently great meals, and contribute to an exceptional guest experience in a vibrant Savannah setting.

Qualifications

• Previous line cook or professional kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and safe food handling.
• Strong sense of urgency during busy service.
• Reliable team player with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and time-management skills.
• Passion for food and hospitality, delivering high-quality work.
• Able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks in a kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes, presentation standards, and service expectations.
• Set up and maintain an organized, fully stocked station before, during, and after service.
• Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining quality, consistency, and attention to detail.
• Support food preparation, production, and storage across the kitchen as needed.
• Communicate effectively with Chefs and fellow cooks regarding prep needs, product levels, and 86’d items.
• Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, cleanliness, and kitchen organization standards.
• Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth service and an exceptional guest experience.
