Job summary

Casino Del Sol is seeking a Cook 1 to join our Food and Beverage team. You will read menus, prepare ingredients, and cook dishes following established recipes to ensure consistent quality and presentation.

The role requires hands-on kitchen work, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have 2 years’ Cook 1 experience, valid Food Handler’s card, and be eligible to work in the U.S. with gaming license eligibility.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience at Cook 1 level or equivalent.
• Must successfully pass a Cook 1 audition.
• Must obtain a valid Food Handler’s card and ServSafe certification within three months of employment.
• Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Must have employment eligibility in the U.S. and be able to obtain a gaming license.

Responsibilities

• Reads daily menus to coordinate cooking times for timely preparation.
• Ensures mise en place ingredients and components are ready at shift start.
• Prepares ingredients including washing, peeling, portioning, chopping, and storing.
• Performs food production tasks following recipes and methods.
• Cooks dishes per provided menus, recipes, and supervisor guidance.
• Monitors food quality for correct texture, temperature, and flavor.
• Verifies food is cooked to required quality and quantity.
• Prepares plate and platter presentations.
• Serves food in proper portions and receptacles.
• Assists with setup and breakdown of work stations as needed.
• Manages food on steam and cold tables to ensure proper timing.
• Prepares customized items on order (e.g., Caesar salads, pastas).
• Maintains inventory of ingredients and supplies.
