Job summary

The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a Line Cook position (Cook I) in Dining Services. This full-time role offers a stable schedule with shifts such as 12:30PM–9:00PM or 2:00PM–10:30PM.

The Cook I position is a short-order, open line cook role handling food prep, recipe reading, and line setup. A minimum of two years’ experience is preferred, with ServSafe certification from Minnesota encouraged. The university supports a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in short-order cooking or volume cooking.
• Culinary school training and ServSafe certification from Minnesota preferred.
• Criminal background check required for all Dining Services positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance in food preparation for back-of-house or front-of-house operations.
• Interact with customers and prepare customized, made-to-order items in a high-volume setting.
• Prep food throughout shift and assist culinary staff with prep sheets.
• Set up and close down open line workstation for service.
• Follow ServSafe guidelines and maintain a clean workstation.
