Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience in high volume kitchen.
• Must be comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED, or a professional diploma or food services management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee food preparation in kitchen, pantry, and storeroom and purchase food and supplies.
• Follow recipes, controls, portions, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
• Determine servings to control portion costs in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Supervise kitchen staff and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and equipment.
• Ensure line cooks meet appearance standards and flavors by tasting and smelling.
• Manage inventory, storage, and distribution of food and supplies.
• Procure food and kitchen supplies as needed.
• May set prices with supervisor's approval.
• Plan and standardize recipes to increase servings with supervisor's approval.
• Track and report food waste.
• Prepare and portion foods, utilize surpluses and leftovers.
