Job summary

The Newbury Boston is seeking a Cook 2 at Highgate Hotels to prepare all items for Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets according to standardized recipes. You will maintain cleanliness, assist in station prep, and support various kitchen positions as needed to ensure exceptional guest dining experiences.

Responsibilities include buffet item preparation, adherence to safety standards, and consistent quality across all outlets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or 1 year of experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Culinary experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items for Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets according to standardized recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen storage areas.
• Complete necessary food and station preparation prior to opening to ensure prompt service.
• Prepare and display buffet items according to hotel standards.
• Proficient in charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sauté, braising, roasting and par-cooking techniques.
• Maintain food quality by recognizing fresh vegetables, fish, dairy and meat standards.
