Job summary

Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa is seeking a Line Cook 2 to prepare food items to spec and on schedule within a dynamic hotel kitchen. You will liaise with supervisors and fellow cooks to ensure quality and timely service across outlets.

The role emphasizes strong culinary fundamentals, teamwork, and the ability to work on hot/cold lines, maintain prep sheets, and adhere to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant.
• Ability to work without immediate supervision and with others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills.
• Basic math skills and understanding of weights and measures.
• Able to follow recipes.
• Must have unexpired Food Handlers or obtain upon hire.
• Culinary degree and/or formal training is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry moderate weight.
• Stand/walk for extended periods with bending and twisting.
• Able to utilize knives and standard culinary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently prepare all food items as directed by supervisor and to company specifications, with limited supervision.
• Maintain knowledge of culinary fundamentals and techniques.
• Work on outlet hot/cold line executing menu items within the timeline for each meal period.
• Stay organized with prep sheets and station guides to prep for service.
• Use culinary equipment properly and safely.
• Create plate presentations that meet specifications.
• Communicate with other team members to ensure smooth service.
• Attend required monthly department meetings and company training.
• Complete other duties assigned by management.
• Work on a restaurant Line.
• Demonstrate proper knife skills and vegetable cuts.
