Job summary

Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa is seeking a Line Cook I to join our culinary team on Amelia Island, FL. The role involves preparing items for hot and cold lines, adhering to company standards, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and safety.

The candidate should have solid cooking skills, physical stamina for long shifts, and flexibility for nights and weekends. At Omni Amelia Island, you will work in a dynamic, guest-focused environment with opportunities for hands-on training and career growth

Qualifications

• 3 years of culinary experience preferred; well-versed in operation of at least one culinary station.
• Knowledge of basic kitchen preparation, knife skills, sanitation, and safety.
• Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per day.
• Flexible scheduling to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Culinary degree and/or formal training preferred.
• Must have unexpired Food Handlers card or obtain upon hire.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry moderate weight.
• Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods and withstand bending/twisting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items per supervisor and company specs.
• Work on hot/cold line, on-time for each meal period.
• Identify and inspect food for quality.
• Follow storage procedures for walk-in items.
• Safely use all culinary equipment.
• Demonstrate solid cooking skills and techniques.
• Maintain walk-in and prep area to health standards.
• Attend department meetings and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
