Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated is seeking a motivated kitchen teammate to follow menu specifications and safely prepare items for direct guest consumption. You will handle medium complexity hot and cold dishes, ensuring timing, plating, and quality meet established standards.

You will work in a fast-paced restaurant environment, maintain strict safety and sanitation practices, and coordinate with front-of-house to accommodate guest requests, allergies, and special occasions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three years related kitchen experience.
• Must obtain and maintain Serv-Safe certificate.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.

Responsibilities

• Provides medium complexity hot and cold food preparation, including accompaniments and garnishes in accordance with recipes and guidelines.
• Maintains knowledge of advanced food preparation and handling techniques.
• Maintains knowledge of all kitchen equipment operations, including tear down, cleaning, and maintenance.
• Adheres to safety and sanitation rules and practices.
• Prepares menu items for restaurant, bar, and special functions in a timely manner.
• Checks food temperatures and ensures quality and presentation.
• Keeps preparation records and stores items properly at close of shift.
