Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a Cook 1 to support food preparation, execution, and safe service in a fast-paced venue. You will assist with receiving, labeling, FIFO storage, and rotation of food, keeping all areas clean and organized.

Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure accurate recipes and timely service for events. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, 2–4 years in a fast-paced kitchen, basic English, and Food Handler/ServSafe certifications.

Qualifications

• Two to four years working in a fast-paced restaurant, caterer or other relevant food service area.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change quickly.
• Proactive, self-motivated, organized and the ability to prioritize as needed.
• Must be clean and constantly aware of sanitation procedures.
• Ability to read and retain information (recipes, prep lists, menus, signage).
• Must be able to speak and read Basic English.
• Must be able to work well with others in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in receiving and storing all food deliveries.
• Follows FIFO (First In First Out) method for receiving and storing food.
• Label and date all food items upon receiving to enforce FIFO.
• Make sure product is rotated when storing on designated storage shelves.
• Notify manager or Chef of any expired product.
• Must maintain a friendly positive attitude and a professional demeanor at all times.
• Report for scheduled events on time and report to assigned area in a timely manner.
• Fulfill the assigned opening and closing duties.
• Carry out assigned tasks in a timely and safe fashion using correct recipes.
• Maintain walk-in coolers, reach-ins, dry storage and all work areas.
