Job summary

Ballast Point Brewing Company is seeking a Line Cook I to set the stage for kitchen success, cooking meats, seafood, vegetables, soups, and more with accuracy and speed. Lead station prep, plating, and garnishes while upholding safety and cleanliness standards.

You will follow recipe specifications, maintain portion control, and support the team through busy periods. The role emphasizes quality, teamwork, and willingness to take on culinary tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity in a high-volume restaurant.
• Clear communication with managers, kitchen, and dining room teams.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Display knife skills and maintain clean, sanitary work habits.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and other items using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.
• Ensure quality and portion sizes meet standards and procedures.
• Stock and maintain adequate food levels at line stations for smooth service.
• Plate and garnish dishes according to presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe workstation and assist in closing the kitchen as needed.
• Attend meetings and contribute ideas for improvement.
