Job summary

The Scott Resort & Spa in Scottsdale is seeking a skilled culinary professional for a mid-shift role in our high-volume kitchen. You’ll help bring The Canal Club’s culinary vision to life, prep ingredients, execute dishes with consistency, and support the culinary team during service.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of cooking in a busy environment, knowledge of sauces, stocks, kitchen safety, and a strong focus on quality, cleanliness, and hospitality.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; culinary school or apprenticeship training is a plus.
• A current Maricopa County Food Service Worker card or certification.
• At least two years of cooking experience in a similar high-volume culinary environment.
• Knowledge of cooking fundamentals, including sauces, stocks, cooking methods, and recipe execution.
• Understanding of sanitation practices, food safety standards, and Health Department requirements.
• Basic math skills for recipe preparation, portioning, and kitchen measurements.
• The ability to stay organized, focused, and calm while managing multiple priorities.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, preferred.
• A professional appearance and a commitment to the grooming standards of a luxury resort environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily requisitions for food, ingredients, and kitchen supplies.
• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, specifications, and guest requests.
• Select and use high-quality ingredients that meet our standards for freshness, flavor, and presentation.
• Follow proper storage, labeling, rotation, and handling procedures, with particular attention to proteins and perishable products.
• Maintain clean, organized workstations, refrigeration units, and storage areas in accordance with Health Department requirements.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, and other culinary tools.
• Support the Sous Chefs, Executive Chef, and culinary team with service, special projects, and day-to-day kitchen execution.
• Work with urgency, professionalism, and a team-first attitude during busy resort service periods.
