Qualifications

  • At least two years of cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • A current Maricopa County Food Service Worker card or certification.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary school or apprenticeship training is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking fundamentals, including sauces, stocks, and recipe execution.
  • Solid understanding of sanitation practices and Health Department requirements.
  • Basic math skills for recipe preparation and portioning.
  • Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking English; professional appearance.

Your Kitchen, Your Craft, Your Moment

From early prep to afternoon service, you’ll be part of the culinary engine behind memorable resort moments. You’ll prepare flavorful, consistent dishes with the care and precision guests expect from The Scott and The Canal Club—whether they’re beginning a day of Scottsdale shopping and golf, relaxing by the pool, or lingering over a meal with friends.

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, specifications, presentation standards, and guest requests.
  • Complete daily food, ingredient, and kitchen-supply requisitions with attention to quality and efficiency.
  • Bring fresh, high-quality ingredients to life while maintaining consistency in flavor, portioning, and presentation.
  • Handle proteins, produce, and perishable ingredients using proper storage, labeling, rotation, and food-safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized station, including refrigeration units and storage areas, in accordance with Health Department standards.
  • Safely operate kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, and other culinary tools.
  • Support Sous Chefs, the Executive Chef, and fellow culinary team members during service, prep, special events, and daily operations.
  • Move with purpose during high-volume periods while staying calm, communicative, and team-focused.
