World Spa in New York is seeking an experienced cook to join our busy kitchen. You will set up stations, prepare ingredients, cook using grills and ovens, and ensure elegant presentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as cook.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures (grilling, baking, boiling).
• Ability to follow sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Very good communication skills.
• Excellent physical condition and stamina.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage.
• Food Handlers license.
• Food health and safety training and certificate.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Cook food in various utensils or grillers
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
• Prepare meals for our customers
• Weigh, measure, mix, and prep ingredients according to recipes
• Steam, grill, boil, bake or fry meats, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients
• Check food and ingredients for freshnessArrange and garnish dishes
• Work well under pressure and within the time limit
• Ensure that the kitchen area, equipment and utensils are cleaned
• Help lead and inspire our kitchen staff with the restaurant manager
• Wow our guests with amazing dishes
