Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Cook to join our restaurant team at our travel centers, preparing and presenting quality food so guests leave better rested for the road. You will perform prep tasks, set up grill stations, follow plate presentation guides, complete temperature check sheets and practice safe food handling.

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience is a plus.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fun, trusting environment focused on great customer service
• Perform prep cook tasks such as washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients.
• Perform grill cook tasks, set up broiler, fryer and grill stations according to line check sheets and follow plate presentation guides
• Complete prep, freezer pull and temperature checklist sheets
• Practice safe food handling and storage and report unsafe situations
• Maintain equipment per operating standards
• Prioritize work according to restaurant and guest needs
• Build communication with leaders and co-workers
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
