Job summary

Ojai Valley Inn & Spa is seeking a Line Cook 4 to support the culinary team in delivering Five Diamond service. The role focuses on preparing and cooking food with attention to cleanliness, quality, and timeliness while maintaining a safe workstation.

The incumbent will follow recipes and directions, work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and ensure all dishes meet presentation and flavor standards. Experience in upscale dining and a California food handler card are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up station on the line as required.
• Prepare all food required for scheduled station and shift.
• Follow quality control and standards of excellence on the line.
• Maintain quality and consistency of all food served.
• Safely and properly clean and use equipment including personal knives.
• Ensure station is set on time with the appropriate amount of food and supplies.
• Assist in controlling food cost by monitoring waste and prep.
• Produce food according to tickets and specifications.
• Work with urgency to meet deadlines and station needs.
• Ensure all foods are stored properly with labeling and dates.
• Promote safety and reduce accidents in the work area.
• Adhere to health regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain knowledge of taste and presentation of all menu items.
• Close stations and complete cleaning procedures.
• Work from production sheets and prep lists for line stations.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized work area.
• Assist in receiving items and proper storage.
• Adhere to plating guides and recipes.
